What is a global citizen? JICEF's goal in nurturing the next generation.
JICEF aims to help young people who will lead the next generation grow into "global citizens" who can thrive across national borders and cultural differences.
To that end, we implement programs that send Japanese students abroad and programs that welcome students coming to Japan from overseas.
Encountering diverse values through real-life experiences
Participants are exposed to diverse values and ways of thinking through school visits, university visits, research activities, cultural exchange, homestays, and volunteer activities. The program also promotes collaboration between schools, universities, and educational institutions in Japan and overseas, supporting inter-school exchanges, sister school partnerships, and joint projects.
We emphasize experiences that go beyond mere sightseeing or short-term stays, focusing instead on actually immersing ourselves in the local education, culture, and society. By learning from and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds to tackle challenges, we cultivate an international perspective and flexible thinking skills.
Achievements in education and cultural programs that connect with the world
To date, we have planned and operated such educational and cultural programs for students and educators who have come to Japan from countries such as Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Iraq, the United States, and Canada.
In addition to student programs, we also provide support for educators and professionals to share their experiences and knowledge through school visits, exchange meetings, lectures, networking opportunities, and partnership building.
