Following the warm and successful format of our regular orphanage programs, JICEF recently hosted a brand new cultural exchange event. This time, we took the children on a creative and delicious journey by celebrating our very own England Culture Day!

The day was packed with teamwork, laughter, and cross-cultural connection, focusing on two special activities:

A Delicious England Culture Day: Fun Dessert Making

Instead of cooking a full meal, we focused entirely on making delightful sweets! The children and our international volunteers teamed up around big bowls, whisking and mixing ingredients together to create traditional English desserts. It was a wonderful way to practice communication and enjoy a sweet reward.

England Culture Day Crafts: Making Original Knight Shields

For the workshop portion, we explored English history and legends. Each child got to design and craft their very own medieval knight's shield! Using colorful paper and creative materials, they decorated their shields with unique symbols and crests. Seeing the kids proudly hold up their finished masterpieces was truly the highlight of the day.

We want to extend a massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this England Culture Day such a memorable experience for the children. We can’t wait for our next cultural adventure!
