JICEF recently had the honor of hosting a wonderful Uzbekistan Culture Day at Tokyo Katei Gakkō, a local children's home. It was a heartwarming opportunity to bring the rich and beautiful culture of Uzbekistan directly to the children. Together, we experienced a memorable day of learning, cooking traditional food, and creating beautiful crafts.

Learning About Uzbekistan Culture

The event kicked off with a fascinating presentation about Uzbekistan. We learned about their colorful traditional clothes, daily lifestyle, and unique history. Everyone listened carefully and discovered many interesting facts about this beautiful Central Asian country.

Cooking Traditional Uzbek Food

After the presentation, it was time to move to the kitchen! Participants worked together as a team to prepare a traditional Uzbek dish. From carefully chopping fresh vegetables to stir-frying the ingredients over the stove, everyone enjoyed the collaborative cooking experience and the delicious aromas filling the room.

Making Colorful Handicrafts

For the final activity, we explored Uzbek art by making traditional handicrafts. The children had a great time coloring intricate patterns and decorating them with colorful yarns. It was amazing to see how focused and creative everyone was! At the end, they proudly showed off their beautiful, handmade cultural artworks.

Thank You for Joining!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable cultural exchange. We look forward to seeing you at our next JICEF event!
